Three beef patties and a bowl of seasoning mix on white platter.

Make a big batch of this simple hamburger spice mix and store it in a Mason jar in your pantry so you’ll have it on hand next time you wanna fire up the grill for a juicy burger (or make pan-fried burgers) that taste as good as the one from your favorite burger joint!

The simple ingredients for this seasoning blend are : Lawry’s Seasoned Salt, garlic powder and ground black pepper- there’s no need to spend a lot of money on store-bought burger seasonings because you can make this simple blend in your own kitchen with just a handful of spices.

The Lawry’s seasoned salt is an all-purpose seasoning that contains other ingredients that make this the perfect combination. The best part of this recipe is, because Lawry’s already adds salt, celery seed and paprika to their all-purpose seasoning, you only need to add a few ingredients to make the perfect flavorful spice blend.  For best results, keep the ratio of spices as written to achieve the perfect blend of seasonings. The ratios are:

  • 4 parts Lawry’s Seasoned Salt
  • 2 parts granulated garlic powder
  • 1 part ground black pepper

You can use this dry burger seasoning blend on french fries, too!

In a small bowl, combine ingredients

Form the hamburger patties and lightly sprinkle a little of the seasoning blend on one side of the ground beef patty

Allow to rest a few minutes, then place on a hot grill or in a skillet on the stovetop and cook to your desired degree of doneness

Store the dry seasoning in an airtight jar in a dark pantry and keep it away from direct heat (direct heat reduces the great flavor on this homemade burger seasoning). You can store it for up to 6 months at room temperature, provided its in a dark, dry place in your pantry.

This quick and easy 3-ingredient hamburger seasoning mix is great to have on hand and always ensures the most flavorful burgers!

Ingredients

  • ½ cup Lawry's Seasoned Salt (8 tablespoons)
  • ¼ cup garlic powder (4 tablespoons)
  • 2 tablespoons ground black pepper

Instructions

  • In a small mixing bowl, combine seasoning ingredients
½ cup Lawry's Seasoned Salt, ¼ cup garlic powder, 2 tablespoons ground black pepper
  • Sprinkle ½ – 1 teaspoon on one side of each burger patty; gently pat mix into meat then grill (See recipe notes below)
  • Store remaining seasoning mix in a jar with a tight lid in a dry area for up to 6 months.

Notes

Lawry’s Seasoned Salt is relatively salty so, if you don’t care for a lot of salt, put the seasoning mix only on one side of the hamburger patty and use the seasoning sparingly (1/2 – 1 teaspoon per patty)
The recipe as written yields 3/4 cup of seasoning which equates to about 36 teaspoons of seasoning mix.
