Purple Hull Peas
How to Season & Cook
Ingredients
Bacon or Hamhock Purple Hull or Black Eyed Peas Garlic powder Onion powder Broth or water Salt & pepper
Cook bacon in large pan; leave the bacon and grease in the pan
If using a smoked ham hock, add it to the pan with broth or water and bring to boil
If using a smoked ham hock, add it to the pan with broth or water and bring to boil
Add broth to bacon or ham hock and bring to boil
Add purple hull peas & bring to boil for 5 minutes
Add dry seasonings
Turn heat down to medium low, cover and simmer until peas are tender
Season to taste with salt & pepper
